Our Story

The story of Lore begins with a return to the land, to the animal, to the essence of what clothing once was.

For centuries, the connection between people, landscape and natural fibers has shaped European life. Wool, flax and other plant-based fibers formed the foundation of daily existence, transformed by skilled hands into garments that protected and expressed identity. This rhythm between land, animal and maker reflected a quiet understanding of balance.
The story of Lore begins with a return to the land, to the animal, to the essence of what clothing once was.

At Lore, we continue this legacy.

We design from the fiber outward, allowing the material to guide the form. Our collections are created with wool sourced exclusively from Europe, from sheep that graze alpine meadows and maintain the landscapes we call home.

Each piece is produced entirely within Europe, in collaboration with regional shepherds, spinners and artisans who preserve the craft of working with wool

We see fashion not as consumption but as a connection between soil and stitch, maker and wearer, nature and design. By tracing every step of our supply chain, we celebrate the raw beauty of the process and honor those who keep it alive.

Founded by Inga Nemirovskaia, a Central Saint Martins MA graduate with over a decade of experience in knitwear design for Haider Ackermann, Ann Demeulemeester and Alber Elbaz, Lore represents a return to meaning. After years in London, Antwerp and Paris, Inga founded Lore in Vienna with a vision to restore integrity and intimacy to the act of making clothing.
